The school was founded in 1980 by Lutheran Church Missionary, currently the school is under the Ministry of Education. Capacity -150 pupils<br \/>\nThe school Is situated within Kisumu Town along Ondiek highway opposite Moi stadium just next to Nakumatt mega city at Kachok.\n<\/p>\n<h3>The School Management<\/h3>\n<p>The school is managed by the Board of Management (B.O.M) with the assistance of parents association (PA) with the support from the sponsor and the ministry of education. Joyland Special School for Physically impaired, Pandpieri comprehensive\u00a0School, Kisumu Union Primary School.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2) Community Based rehabilitation (CBR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through this program sixty eight (168) student have managed to get into the world of work such as hotel attendants, cobblers newspaper vendors, Learner support Assistant, shoe shiners, loom work, poultry attendant at a local university, Agriculture<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3) Scouting &amp; Guiding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our students have successfully participated in both local and international competitions ie, 4\u201d African scouts Jamboree in 2000 and the 75<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary for Girl Guide Association.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4) Sporting Activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our students have effectively participated in local sporting activities i.e. National County Games (KIPIDSA) Some of the students have represented the country in international competitions (special Olympics). University for Parallel and Diploma programmes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3) Study center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>School provides favourable programmes that have attracted institutions of higher learning to conduct their programmes for their students in teaching practice (TP) and attachments. Some of the institutions that send their students to our school include:Maseno University,Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of science and technology (JOOUST) Medical training centre\u2019s in western Kenya e.g. MTC Kisumu, Nyabondo, Tenmwek.Kaplong MTC.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>:- Children welfare institutions<\/li>\n<li>:- In service program for needy groups dealing with children with learning difficulty<\/li>\n<li>:- Students from abroad on Internship e.g. Finland, Holland.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sweden, Germany and Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>Kenya Institute of Persons with Disabilities (KISE) for teaching practice. These include woodwork, poultry, agriculture, tailoring, garment making.<\/p>\n<h3>Computer Lab<\/h3>\n<p>The school has established a well vibrant and furnished computer laboratory. This facility serves as learning center of all students who attend lessons at specific and designated periods. is enormous, these include among others:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>1) Most students are vulnerable and orphans<\/li>\n<li>2) Lack of permanent homes for our graduating students<\/li>\n<li>3) Inadequate job opportunities for our graduates<\/li>\n<li>4) Lack of enough space for expansion<\/li>\n<li>5) Lack of school bus for transport<\/li>\n<li>6) Inadequate classrooms<\/li>\n<li>7) Inadequate foodstuff for the feeding program<\/li>\n<li>8) Lack of school hall for recreation<\/li>\n<li>9) Inadequate teaching and learning resources<\/li>\n<li>10) Lack of market for the product from the students work\/products<\/li>\n<li>11) Negative attitude from potential employers<\/li>\n<li>12) Lack of physiotherapy services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Unresponsive society towards disability in general but more pupil&#8217;s work.<\/li>\n<li>4) Plan to expand vocational program to include leather work, bead work, wearing, laundry work, rope making and machine knitting.<\/li>\n<li>5) Purchase of school bus for educational services<\/li>\n<li>6) Construction of adapted swimming pool for hydrotherapy.<\/li>\n<li>7) Construction of a school hall.<\/li>\n<li>8) Construction of resource center which will
